Violet´s Peapod

Lennore Merz is the owner and founder of Violet's Peapod. Soon after meeting her future husband while completing her Bachelor's Degree in San Francisco, she followed her heart and was swept away to live in Germany. She married there and soon after brought a precious baby boy named Nathan into the world.

She first discovered baby sleep sacks when her Mother-In-Law gave her one as a gift for Nathan. It was unlike anything else she had ever seen back in America. The idea of a "Baby Schlafsack" made perfect sense as an alternative for families who didn't want to worry about loose bedding in their baby's crib (hence less worry about SIDS). She used the baby sleep sack religiously until Nathan was old enough for a toddler bed.

After her wonderful two-year adventure abroad, Lennore returned to the Bay Area with her new family. She found herself thirsting for a work environment where she could utilize not only her business management skills, but also her creativity and fashion knowledge. Once she became pregnant several years later with her second child, Violet, she was delighted to have a much-anticipated epiphany. "Why not design and produce my own baby sleep sacks?" Lennore asked herself. After all, she had shopped around for cute and unique baby sleep sacks for Violet, only to be disappointed by the available selection in America. Having been enlightened, she immediately started researching and gathering information on opening her own business, thus taking her first steps in making her life-long dream become reality.

Lennore found much inspiration, advice, and help from her German family, close friends and fellow entrepreneurs. To these wonderful people, she is eternally grateful for the ongoing love and support. As for darling Violet, Lennore is ever-thankful to have had her epiphany with her daughter in utero. Lennore has therefore named her business after her.
